IGNITE CURIOSITY. INSPIRE INQUIRY. PRACTICE CRITICAL THINKING.

The Education Department is responsible for the development and implementation of all educational programmes that accompany every exhibition. This unit is also responsible for outreach programmes in schools, communities and Organizations Island wide. In addition to raising public awareness of The Bahamas' rich history, the programs also address how history is relevant to our current social practices.

Every day at AMMC we tell stories about Bahamian history and culture. Why? Because our history is deeper, richer, and more significant than the handful of dates and events learned about in school. Our museums and sites offer a dynamic multi-dimensional learning experience which includes history exhibitions, community conversations, literary presentations, documentary screenings, historic portrayals, and cultural activities. We also partner with other organizations to broaden our reach and make Bahamian  history and culture even more meaningful and memorable. But we can’t continue to do this without your help.  Many thanks to our steadfast supporters, who have played a pivotal role in preserving our important past and inspiring a bright new future. We sincerely appreciate their invaluable support and the museum’s continued success is dependent on the ongoing generosity of current members and the recruitment of new members.
